Apprentice Estates Surveyor

Job Title: Apprentice Surveyor Department: Lambert Smith Hampton is a progressive property consultancy with a strong and empowered workforce comprised of driven individuals who strive to provide best in class service. We get involved in all areas of commercial property from capital markets and construction consultancy, to management of the most complex property portfolios. We are looking for a bright, friendly and enthusiastic Apprentice Surveyor to work in our Nottingham valuation team, working in the city and across the East Midlands.

As an Apprentice Surveyor you will provide essential administrative and technical support to the Valuation team whilst gaining valuable experience of the role of a commercial surveyor. The work will be varied and will be completed both in the office and on site – requiring visits to client offices and to properties of all commercial asset classes

As an Apprentice Surveyor your duties will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Shadowing chartered surveyors.
Providing support on instructions to surveyors in the business on Valuation related matters
Representing LSH and the full range of property related services available to our clients.
Data entry.
General office admin duties.
Attending training and continuous professional development (CPD) events where required to support your learning.

On-the-Job Training Provided:

Training and coaching will be provided via the following methods:
~ Attending relevant training courses (internal and external) both online and in-person.
~ 1-1 coaching.
~ Off-the-Job Training and Assessment:

Off-the-job training will be provided by Nottingham Trent University (NTU) You will achieve a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc (Hons) Real Estate degree. You will be allocated one study day per week to attend lectures and seminars on campus.

Upon completion of the BSc (Hons) Real Estate and the structured workplace learning you will undertake the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence leading to registration with the RICS as a Chartered Surveyor.

It is anticipated that on successful completion of the apprenticeship and your APC you will be promoted to the position of Surveyor within Lambert Smith Hampton.

Competent user of MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint programmes.
Good attention to detail, problem solving, logical reasoning and data analysis.
Possess a valid UK driving license and a car will be essential.

Personal Qualities Required:
Have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Construction Technical through which a Construction and Built Environment Diploma with a minimum DD profile was obtained or through which a Construction and Built Environment Extended Diploma with a minimum MMM profile was obtained, or an equivalent qualification.

Have GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (Grade 4 for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics as defined by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England.
