Senior Director of Risk Management

Are you passionate about rehabilitation and improving offenders and employees quality of life?
HMP Peterborough is seeking an experienced and visionary Prison Director to lead the establishment.
You will also be responsible for meeting the prison's business and contractual requirements, managing financial performance, and ensuring high-quality services. If you have proven experience of working as a Prison Governing Governor or Director within the public or private sector and have strong operational management skills we would love to hear from you.

Strategic Direction: Set and maintain the strategic direction of the prison, considering regional and local priorities.
Develop and review prison strategy, including an annual business plan and equality plan to enhance performance and efficiency.
Performance Management: Deliver agreed performance and contractual targets on time and within budget.
Risk Management: Identify, manage, and review operational, financial, reputational, and personnel risks.
Staff Engagement: Foster a culture that attracts, engages, motivates, and retains high-quality staff. Ensure effective workforce and succession planning.
Financial Oversight: Ensure financial probity and value for money, delivering all services within budget and achieving identified efficiencies.
Contract Management: Use the contract change process to identify and resource new work.
Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with the Controller, external partners, and HMPPS.
Promotion and Media: Lead promotional activities with stakeholders, partners, government, and the media.
Team Leadership: Provide direct line management for Senior Management Team members and matrix management for HR and Finance staff.
Identify and maximize opportunities for organizational growth to ensure a vibrant and viable future.
Senior operational experience in prisons, including incident command, risk management, and necessary security clearance.
Financial management experience with large budgets and proven efficiency.
Strategic thinker with knowledge of policy and legal contexts for complex decisions.
