Cloud Architect – Kubernetes (EKS) - 12 Month Contract - Inside IR35

Entasis Partners are recruiting for a Cloud Architect with advanced AWS expertise to support a key client programme. This role focuses on designing and managing secure, scalable containerised applications to enhance security operations.

Location: Hybrid (UK-based with potential on-site requirements)

Security Clearance: SC Clearance

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

Cloud Architect Key Responsibilities

  • Architect highly available containerised applications on AWS using Kubernetes (EKS), ECS, and Fargate.
  • Implement solutions aligned with public sector frameworks (e.g., NCSC Cloud Security Principles, GDPR).
  • Manage and optimise Kubernetes (EKS) clusters for security, scalability, and high availability.
  • Develop infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, and automate CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on AWS container services, working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years as an AWS Cloud Architect/in AWS cloud architecture, ideally in government or public sector projects.
  • Advanced AWS skills (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53).
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS/Fargate.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with public sector compliance (GDPR, ISO27001).
  • Experience building secure CI/CD pipelines.
  • Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, effective communication, collaboration, and adaptability in regulated environments.
