Talent84is delighted to be representing our client, a highly successful specialist engineering solutions business based in Teesside. My client seeks a Lead Design Engineer to drive the future of the department, contributing to the entire design process as well as playing an integral role in the continuous improvement of the department, upskilling of staff etc.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Lead Design Engineer will be the 2nd in command for the design function. This is a senior role where the individual is expected to manage the day-to-day tasks of the design team and make technical decisions that best suit each project. The Lead Design Engineer is expected to check and verify the work of the other Design Engineers with final approval obtained from the Technical Director.
Create concept designs and working drawings with the use of 3D and 2D Autodesk packages
Development of Crane Systems range
Prepare internal design and fabrication documents
Lead other design engineers and troubleshoot day to day issues within the department
Produce project deliverables e. Assist in the scheduling of projects
Participate in industry events and networking
Experience with 2D and 3D draughting and modelling utilising Autodesk Inventor.
