Job Title: Director of Project Management
Job Description:
As the Director of Project Management in the building construction industry, you will oversee and lead a team of project managers, ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve strategic leadership, people management, client interfacing, and profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities. With a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the building construction industry and at least 7 years in a leadership role, you will be pivotal in driving project success, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team growth and development.
Project Oversight and Execution:
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Develop and implement project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Client Interfacing:
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
Address client concerns and issues promptly, providing solutions and maintaining a high level of client trust and confidence.
P&L Management:
Manage project budgets and financial performance, ensuring projects meet profitability targets and financial objectives.
Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management, highlighting project performance and financial health.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and execute strategic plans for the project management team, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth and expansion of the company's project portfolio.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with construction projects, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards throughout project execution.
Resource Optimization:
Optimize resource allocation and utilization across projects, ensuring efficient use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
Implement process improvements to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the building construction industry.
At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role, managing project management teams.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera).
PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
