We are working with a global manufacturer of bespoke, high end scientific instruments supporting a range of applications including geophysics/geochemistry research, materials science and the nuclear industry.

For a new opening for a Test & Installation Engineer, we are looking for: -

  • Could be a Physics/Astrophysics/Environmental (or similar) graduate with or without industrial experience who is practically minded OR an engineer with experience within the analytical instrument sector
  • Customer facing and attention to detail
  • Broad skill set - electronic, mechanical, electrical, scientific
  • Ex-forces candidates considered (with Electrical or Electronic background)
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to learn and naturally curious
  • Experience working on scientific equipment is highly desirable but not essential
  • Flexible and keen to travel Internationally (sometime on your own) where needed up to around 20% of the time
  • Predominantly based on site at their HQ in Wrexham

The role will involve detailed testing and installation of high tech scientific instruments. You will spent time in the Assembly section initially to learn how the instruments are built, test them over a period of time to ensure they meet requirements and then travel to the customer site to support the installation alongside training on site. This will involve travel to customer sites across the globe including China, USA, Europe, Australia.
