Educate Together School Boards of Management-Chairperson Vacancy

A vacancy exists for a chairperson of the board of management of one of our schools.
The role of the chairperson is to work closely with the school principal to guide the board in its management of the school. The board of management comprises nominees from the school community and is an independent corporate body registered with the Charities Regulator.
As chairperson of the board you will:
- Exercise personal and professional integrity
- Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of Educate Together
- Conduct board business with objectivity and a non-judgmental approach
- Have the capacity to think strategically
- Be willing to learn about and adhere to school administration and management processes and requirements
- Have previous experience chairing boards, committees, or working groups
Educate Together is a modern, dynamic charity that is redefining standards in inclusive, learner-centred education. It is providing a long-overdue choice of equality-based primary and second-level schools for thousands of families in Ireland. It is working to transform the learning environment for all pupils so that they are properly prepared for life in the twenty-first century.
Educate Together schools are state-funded, child-centred and democratically run and guarantee equality of access and esteem to students irrespective of their social, cultural or religious background.
This is a voluntary, unpaid position. Training is provided and there is an ongoing support service for chairpersons.
