will be working with and to position Applied in the right places using our stories so that we connect with the right people.

You will have a close relationship with Applied’s leadership, work closely with the commercial and design teams and get to know and work with everyone in the company. It’s a role for someone who wants to be leading from the heart of the organisation.

Background

Applied is a growing specialist consultancy – with a core practice of wayfinding, but with solutions that go much further. It is the global leader in its field. Engagements are significant and the company operates globally. The company created London’s walking system, Toronto’s transit system and Google’s wayfinding system.

The role

The role is to manage Applied’s external and internal communications, whilst playing a key role in responding to and supporting our new business activities.

The role involves:

● Devising and implementing communications strategies

● Creating and disseminating content across a variety of channels

● Running selected social media

● Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency and alignment across all communications.

● Organising and arranging talks, events and special projects

● Responding to enquiries,

● Coordinating the bid process and

● Looking after our databases of contacts, case studies and background details.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

Communications:

● Develop and implement communication strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.

● Conduct market research on the industry, prospective clients, competitors, and partners.

● Write and edit content for various channels, including email newsletters, social media posts, and press releases

● Work with our PR Agency to support PR initiatives.

● Manage the organisation's social media accounts, including content creation, community management, and analytics reporting

● Monitor media coverage and prepare reports for internal stakeholders

● Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels

● Create original content to help establish Applied as the industry leader in our field.

● Support the execution of events and other public-facing activities

● Continuously monitor and evaluate communication efforts to ensure effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement

Business Development:

● Identify new business opportunities: Conduct market research to identify potential clients and new business opportunities.

● Responding to enquiries. Researching requests and the background to clients and situations and co ordinating the qualification process.

● Coordinate the bid process: Manage and coordinate the bid process from start to finish, including reviewing bid requirements, coordinating with the internal team to develop bid strategy, writing proposals, and submitting proposals.

● Write proposals: Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposals that articulate the value proposition of the company and address the specific needs of the client.

● Collaborate with practitioners, partners and the communications: Work closely with these people to develop marketing materials, presentations, and other collateral to support the bid process.

● Conduct post-bid analysis: Analyse bid outcomes and gather feedback from clients to inform future proposals and improve the bid process.

● Research and analyse new markets, clients and opportunities.

Key Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field

● 2-3 years of experience in a communications or marketing role

● Strong writing and editing skills, with experience creating content for a variety of channels. With an ability to understand requests and details and summarise succinctly.

● Experience managing social media accounts and creating social media content

● Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and departments

● Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

● Experience with analytics and reporting

● Proficiency with Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite

● Experience with email marketing and website management platforms, such as Mailchimp and WordPress is preferred.

● Ideally, familiarity with CRM and pipeline management tools

Overall, you are someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You’ll have a strong understanding of how communications work, excellent

writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Level

We are looking for someone who is at the early stages of their career but someone who wants to learn a lot very quickly and can grow with an expanding company.

Salary

£30,000 to £40,000 per annum.
