Your new role at NewDay

At NewDay As part of the Platform Engineering team you will manage, support and develop the platform that allows NewDay developers to rapidly test, deploy and put into production their software on the Azure cloud.

NewDay aim to build the best Digital Credit Card Platform in the UK, and we need a world class engineering team to enable and deliver that platform. We like to use the latest technologies, and need engineers who are comfortable stretching themselves, truly understanding new products and services, and integrating them into our platform.

You'll deliver

  • Support to the Digital Platform so developers can efficiently deploy code
  • Developments to our Platform to take advantage of new technologies, software and services
  • Improvements to our scalability, resilience and availability

What you'll bring

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
• Azure Cloud Platform Services(PaaS) such as App services, Azure Functions, CosmosDB, Traffic Managers, Load Balancers, Key Vaults, Azure SQL, Storage, HA, DNS and supporting infrastructure
• Build and deployment technologies such as TeamCity, Octopus, GitHub Actions
• You will have experience Infrastructure as Code utilising Terraform or ARM templating
• Exposure to Automated software delivery pipelines
• Exposure to Scrum team and the tooling that supports it (e.g. Jira, GitHub)
• Expertise in Networking, DNS, Digital Certificates, Authentication, cloud security and Authorisation

And would love you to know or learn:
• You will enjoy discussing /promoting DevOps to an audience, both in terms of adoption of new processes and persuading non-believers
• Experience in Software Development - Pulmi / Typescript desirable
• You will be responsible for Implementing Continuous Delivery
• You will have knowledge of Testing, be it Test Driven Development or using a Test Framework to validate changes
• v You will take ownership of monitoring large systems using technologies such as Application Insights and Log Analytics
• Extending and improving open source software and automation test frameworks
