We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Contracts Supervisor. Our Building Services department is responsible for maintaining and improving the councils mechanical and electrical assets across the estate. We manage statutory compliance programmes such as boiler servicing, fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, roller shutters, and wider mechanical/electrical maintenance. The team works across schools, civic buildings, and community facilities, ensuring everything is safe, functional, and fully compliant. We are continuing to modernise through digital transformation, including FACTS projects and new workflows, so this is an exciting time to join a team that is moving forward. As a Contracts Supervisor, you will Duties include Supervising and monitoring contracts to ensure groups and individuals are properly deployed and productive, managing any Sub-Contractors and maintaining a healthy, safe and productive working environment, including an awareness of health and safety amongst all employees and ensuring compliance with corporate and departmental policies, procedures and codes of practice, including The Health & Safety at Work Act & CDM Regulations. Your daily routine You will be required to assist in the provision of a cost-effective Service which exceeds expectation in accordance with Financial Regulations and Standing Orders, liaising with Other Departments, Architects; Engineers and Supervisors regarding all aspects of the building services function. About you - do you have: Previous supervisory experience. Experience within the building, construction and maintenance industries Experience of working in a customer focused environment. Ability to provide work of a high standard and attention to detail within tight timescales. Must be highly motivated, able to manage, prioritise and programme own workload. Ideally the post requires an appropriate Building Qualification Mechanical/Electrical /Building trade qualification.
