OPPORTUNITY

Co-founder role in an early stage Sustainability Tech business which has already developed the first stage of the platform offering supply chain intelligence for people, planet and profit. With an initial focus on the hospitality industry, current clients range from workplace and event caterers, to hotel and pub groups as well as the

public sector.

We are seeking to appoint someone who already had significant career success in managing a fast-growing business. If that was in a start-up business overcoming the typical challenges that new companies face, that would be great. If your success was in a more mature company, but one where you demonstrated management skills that would support our fast growth, that would also put you in a good position to become our co-founder.

The person we choose will have the opportunity to be at the heart of our business, which has global potential, where you can build a strong equity position prior to a trade exit in a few years.

BACKGROUND

Tried & Supplied’s supply chain intelligence platform is based on the Founder’s experience modelling networks and extracting commercial insights and efficient workflows from large volumes of messy social media data for enterprise clients. Supply chain data is similarly complex and unstructured, due to the nature of it coming from a variety of different external sources. Sourcing this data and making sense of it is incredibly time-consuming for businesses, yet increasingly customers and legislation are demanding it. The Tried & Supplied platform currently offers Environmental Social Governance reporting integrated with purchase data and supports businesses with supplier engagement and data management through its supplier marketplace.

The existing team has deep knowledge of both sustainability and food & beverage procurement as well as experience in data science and software development.

The current funding round is to make key hires in sales and marketing, support the expansion of the platform and automate the data sourcing to develop further opportunities in both the food & beverage industry and new markets with complex global supply chains, such as construction.

 

ROLE

Co-founder

The Founder is currently split very thin across all aspects of the business and is looking for someone with complementary skills and experience to work alongside her in growing the business and attracting investors for our first VC raise with a view to exit within 3-5 years. The exact role is open to discussion dependent on skills, experience and preference.

Skills and experience

Executive - we are looking for someone with at least 5 years senior corporate experience

Management - Need to demonstrate a track record of growing and managing teams

Growth - as an early stage business, it is important that the Co-founder has had experience of growing businesses and generating revenue either in a leadership role or as part of a wider team

Corporate finance - You must show experience and understanding of corporate finance to include raising funds and developing long term strategies for growing and exiting investments

Technology - Knowledge and experience in this area will be helpful and in particular B2B SaaS products

Sector knowledge - Experience in sustainability, food & beverage or construction would be helpful

INVESTMENT

It is expected that the new Co-founder will invest in the business. They will receive an initial tranche of equity (at a discounted rate) upon conclusion of their seed investment with additional equity to be accrued over time pending a combination of KPI’s and time spent with the company.

COMMENCEMENT DATE

This could initially be on a part time basis to be determined between all parties and depending on availability.

 

REMUNERATION

An appropriate package will be included as the current funding round is completed. The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to be involved in the funding process prior to officially taking up their position. Thereafter a salary will be paid at a rate commensurate with the position and will be paid on a pro rata basis depending on time worked within the business.
