The Role
Reporting into a lead developer, the .NET Cloud Developer role is imperative to the continued growth and development of our product roadmap, delivering high quality software utilising modern software development practices and techniques.
Alongside traditional .NET development, the successful candidate will specialise in Cloud-based solutions, utilising Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, CosmosDB, and Azure App Service solutions and potentially equivalent services with other cloud providers such as AWS.
In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team, contributing to a positive culture and working closely with our clients to maximise the use of our best of breed solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop high quality software, following clean coding practices to produce efficient, unit testable code, and ensuring processes are hardened and robust with detailed error handling.
Work with delivery teams and other stakeholders to plan, design and architect upcoming work.
Manage tasks effectively and accurately estimate, track and report on status of your work raising any issues you encounter.
Develop robust solutions utilising Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, CosmosDB and Azure App Services.
Help enforce quality standards through peer reviews and team retrospectives.
Participate in agile ceremonies and help drive continuous improvement with the development team.
Define configuration specifications, architecture, and requirements.
Develop document intelligence services for data extraction
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation concerning the processes, flows and technologies utilised in developing solutions.
Engaging in knowledge-share with team members, to spread and learn knowledge of technologies with the wider team, through advising and coaching.
Experience and skills required
Several years commercial experience in .NET utilising C#
Confident skills in RESTful APIs – Status Codes, CORS, JSON, JWT
Microsoft SQL Server, CosmosDB and/or equivalent relational and NoSQL providers
Proficiency with Microsoft Azure and developing on its products and services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, CosmosDB, Azure App Service)
Solid understanding and experience of cloud computing, functions and best practices.
Solid understanding of ETL processes and T-SQL
GIT Source Control
An ability to work independently with limited supervision, or whilst participating fully as a member of the wider team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a logical, disciplined and structured approach to documentation and procedures
Experience setting up and deploying native cloud solutions using Infrastructure-as-Code solutions i.e. Terraform is advantageous
Intelligent Document Processing and OCR solutions beneficial
Azure DevOps experience great to have, but not necessary
Exposure to working in an agile environment, preferably using SCRUM helpful
A willingness to sporadically travel to different Davies UK/US sites or client sites required.
