We are recruiting for a Shift Engineer with an electrical bias to join a global packaging manufacturer based in Northampton. This is a permanent role working 12 hour shifts 6-6 across 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off x7 and then 18 days off Salary on offer for this Shift Engineer is up to £53,500 per annum plus excellent benefits with this employer who takes the welfare of their staff very seriously As Shift Engineer, you will report into the Engineering Team Leader working in a well established engineering team providing planned and reactive maintenance on the production lines and plant equipment such as conveyors, rollers, presses and printers. Your main responsibilities will include: Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to an agree standard, ensuring safe working always Ensure all site assets are maintained to a high standard, meet site requirements and are reliable Use SAP to capture all maintenance activities (training will be provided) Attain the engineering standards across the site by providing functional support and expertise To perform on relevant Engineering KPIs Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake properly risk assessed Ensure parts are booked out correctly to help control stock levels in stores We are really keen to hear from qualified Shift Engineers with the following skills and experience: Proven experience as a Shift Engineer with an electrical bias but with good mechanical knowledge also Level 3 Electrical/ Mechanical qualifications or equivalent are essential (electrical preferred) Ideally you will have some experience within a packaging manufacturer or similar Be confident in maintaining plant equipment such as conveyors, rollers, presses and printers Previous experience with Siemens PLCs and/ or Mitsubishi PLCs Working in a fast paced environment ensuring you work with production to prioritise break downs to ensure the customers are not let down Be able to work effectively as a team not only with engineering team but also with production Be flexible with working hours (shift cover, overtime) Good communication skills Fault finding experience with good diagnostic skills Benefits Include: 25 days annual leave (plus 8 statutory) as standard Contributory pension scheme Training & development Free on site parking Employee Assistance - 24/7 free & confidential support to both you and your family Access to on site mental health and wellbeing support Cycle to work scheme Annual pay review Please apply today or call us to discuss this Shift Engineer role in more detail
