Job Description This is an exciting and challenging role in a growing team of 130+ Civil & Structural Engineers and Designers. Our department covers a range of projects from Concept Studies through to Detailed Design provide a variety of interesting work. Industries can range across Water, Transport and Energy including Green Energy, Nuclear and Oil and Gas. As a Senior Engineer, you will work with minimal supervision alongside our existing design team, focusing on feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications for key local and regional clients. Responsibilities Leading small projects and sub-tasks from a technical perspective Preparing preliminary and detailed design analysis, calculations, specifications, and related documentation for civil and structural works Effectively communicating designs to the BIM teams Collaborating with other disciplines and construction teams Confidently engaging with clients Challenging and delivering value engineering solutions Supporting and guiding junior team members This position is based in Manchester approximately three days a week, with occasional visits to other offices and sites. Essential QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience within the UK nuclear industry. Good knowledge of UK design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline. Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management and of HSE requirements Minimum BEng Civil or Structural Engineering Chartership or Near with ICE or IStructE Experience with reinforced concrete, new and historic structures, including optioneering assessments. CSCS or CCNSG Ability to obtain Security Clearance - British National or 5 years UK residency Desirable Nuclear Industry recognised training and qualifications Experience in leading small teams and supporting more junior engineers. Knowledge and experience of common forms of contracts Project Management experience Requirements Management experience Currently holding Security Clearance C&S elements of pumped systems, such as fire and potable water. Knowledge of nuclear standards and processes
