United Kingdom Farrans (Construction) Limited Full time

We are seeking to recruit a Site Manger located on our Retirement Village project located in Reading. This role will see you being involved with the successful delivery of projects, working alongside Senior Management team. Initiating continuous improvements to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.

As a Site Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure all of their works are being completed in line with the agreed safety systems of work and RAMS
  • Attend/report/Chair the Weekly Health & Safety Meeting
  • Attend/Lead the Site Daily Briefing each morning and dissipate this to the workforce under their control
  • Carry out all necessary inspections and submit these to the Site Office on a weekly basis
  • Continually monitor the works any hazards or safety observations (either positive or negative)
  • Report any incidents or near miss events immediately to their Line Manger/Site Management
  • Ensure all operatives under their control have the necessary training in place for the tasks ahead
  • Organise for housekeeping of work areas to be completed on at least a daily basis

Quality

  • Complete review of all drawings and specifications associated with work activities and understand manufacturers installation instructions
  • Understand the Inspection Test Plans for their works and complete all required Testing Records in line with this
  • Ensure subcontract QA checks are completed prior to offering up to Farrans for inspection at agreed hold points
  • Raise and log any defects that become apparent and follow up on rectification plans and works
  • Ensure materials are being kept in agreed locations and as per manufacturer’s instructions
  • Ensure all products installed in cavities are as per the spec, installed as per manufactures instructions and recorded in the QA process

Your required Skills and Experience

Educated to degree standard in Engineering or equivalent

Technical knowledge of construction and best practices

Passionate about construction and building

Sound knowledge of latest building regulations, legislation and Health and Safety

Working knowledge in Microsoft Office packages

A n appropriate and valid CSCS / CSR card.

Full Driving License.

First Aid at Work

Sound knowledge of engineering

Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all
