Volvo Trucks is offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Apprentice Paint Spray Technician. This is your chance to work with one of the most trusted names in the automotive industry while gaining valuable hands-on experience and qualifications
Working closely with Panel Technicians, Vehicle Damage Paint Technicians (also known as paint sprayers or refinishers) are the ones who put the final touches on collision repairs and have the ability to make vehicles look just as they did when they left the showroom.
You will be trained to complete every aspect of painting a vehicle from paint preparation, through to paint application and polishing.
Mix paint by eye or using computer technology to ensure the best colour match
Applying several coats to the car, including primers, colours and protective finishes
Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician Apprenticeship
Awarding Body : The Institute for Motor Industry (IMI) TheIMI/Vehicle Damage Paint Technician
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn
GCSE A* to C/Grade 4 in Math and English
Salary £8.72 per hour

Training: Training is delivered in the workplace with your mentor and visits with your Remit Development Coach and also through block release at Remits dedicated Automotive Academy in Derby. The costs for your hotel, food and travel are met by the employer and there will be no cost to you
An apprenticeship is full time employment, and many employers offer further training and progression routes. After achieving your level 3, you can go on to specialise in vinyl wraps and aesthetic paint work, or on to management roles such as Workshop Controller or Shift Supervisor
In addition, Volvo holds an event where you and your family will be invited to a special graduation day to receive your certificates and possibly a special merit award at the end of your apprenticeship
