Production Manager - Composites Are you interested in working with an award-winning boatbuilding company located in waterside offices near Falmouth, Cornwall – the ideal destination for sailors, surfers, and beach enthusiasts?
This is a company, globally respected in the marine industry and at the forefront of designing and building the highest quality boats, motor launches, and tenders. As the Production Manager – Composites, you will report directly to the Production Director. Your role will be to manage the team, ensuring production targets are achieved. The objective is to maintain efficient operations by planning, organising, and directing daily activities to exceed expectations. Recognise and balance the team’s skills to optimise performance.
Identify and rectify any shortfalls in production requirements.
Ensure regular planning and reporting for the pre-production area, with clear schedules in place to meet demands.
Adhere to tracking hours, schedule milestones, and financial budgets, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently.
Ensure that the M1 system accurately reflects team performance against budget and is properly maintained.
Ensure the team is well-resourced and that recruitment activities are prioritised to meet production schedules.
Ensure the facility is regularly maintained and that machinery is serviced to achieve production objectives.
Adhere to company processes and policies, and ensure the team does the same.
Proven managerial experience, including strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
Computer literate.
Responsible for production output, product quality (RFT), and delivering products on time.
Report to the Production Director regarding pre-production assembly parts schedule, budgets, and quality.
Effectively allocate resources and fully utilise assets to achieve optimal results, driving productivity without compromising quality.
Maintain and improve quality standards.
Highlight resource requirements to the Production Director and assist with recruitment.
Maintain a presence on the shop floor to monitor shift activity and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Line Manager to Team Leaders and workshop employees.
Responsible for adhering to manufacturing and facility budgets and targets.
Creative thinking to generate new ideas for improving systems and processes within pre-production.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
6 weeks holiday (including bank holidays) which rises after 3, 5 and 10 years service (up to a maximum of 1 extra week after 10 yrs service).
Parking on-site.
Pension is 5% employee and 3% employer contribution.
Company events twice a year.
