Ada Meher is partnered with a leading eLearning Software company (SaaS) in their search for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help grow their Cloud team/setup.

Role: Senior Platform Engineer

Location: Bristol

Remote setup: Hybrid (2 days per week in the Bristol)

Benefits: £90k, Training Budget, Bonus, 33 days holiday

The business builds & deploys bespoke e-learning for multinational companies, providing consultation and training packages in learning. Their software is used by both large enterprises and start-ups alike, and the company has impressive scaling plans over the next 18 months.

The SME has two core products focused on transforming the learning cultures of their clients.

They have offices in Bristol, Plymouth, Edinburgh and Berlin.

Role:

You'll be completely hands-on building a DevOps function from (almost) scratch, working closely with the Head of Engineering.

You'll have a significant background in DevOps/Platform Engineering, with experience in AWS/GCP, Terraform, Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes. Ideally, you'll be from a software background and be happy within a small team, possessing a 'sleeves rolled up'/not afraid to give their opinion' mentality.

Main deliverables include; overhauling of their SDLC processes and consolidating their cloud infrastructure from AWS > GCP.

You'll work closely with the software development teams to ensure smooth and continuous deployment of applications, helping to maintain/evolve CI/CD pipelines.

Across the business, tech used includes ech-wise; AWS (Lambda/Step Functions), Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Git, Github/GitHub Actions, Ansible, and Python.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Public Cloud (AWS and GCP) infrastructure, and spend time with the dev team to automate processes to name a few responsibilities.
  • Select, adopt, and maintain deployment tools, define service-level metrics, and implement monitoring tools for applications.
  • Lead the building, managing, and developing a distributed team of talented engineers.
  • Deploy SaaS solutions to Amazon AWS, Azure, RackSpace, and CenturyLink.
