My client is part of a family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
The position of Senior Analyst is within their Rapid Diagnostics laboratory located at Abingdon, UK.
The analysis of drugs of abuse in biological samples is conducted by either immunoassay (CEDIA & HEIA) or by confirmatory techniques (such as LC/MS/MS), or by a combination of both. Analysts must perform all analyses to appropriate safety standards, conform to current documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and must ensure that all analyses are conducted to the highest quality standards, whilst being completed in a timely manner.
Maintenance of screening instruments including making reagents and QC's where appropriate
~ 1st and 2nd review (processing & approval) of data
~ QC trending and monitoring
~ Maintenance of all instruments including making reagents and QCs as required

Science Graduate, or equivalent experience
Previous experience within Quality, Health and Safety and team training

Keen interest in process improvement in method development, lab process and quality, demonstrable experience preferred
Able to take ownership of own work, awareness of when to solve a problem themselves or to ask their manager for help
