We are looking for a new team member: Assembly Engineer - Surface Mount Technology You will be working with a market leading CEM operating highly sophisticated equipment, ranging from solder jet printers, Mycronic pick and place machines, X-Ray and numerous reflow ovens responsible for the manufacturing of complex products to IPC class level 3. Working within a team of engineers, technicians need to be fully conversant with the surface mount assembly process. Internal and external training is provided for machine specific equipment, such as the Mycronic platform. Technicians need a full understanding within areas such as component packages, process line operation and visual inspection. We always look to develop employees with training and progression, within the areas of machine minding, weekly maintenance and thermal profiling. Areas include:
- On/Off line set up of the inventory/materials
- On/Off line set up of equipment such as printing, placement, reflow equipment & buffers/loaders
- Running and managing of Mycronic automated production lines
- Running cutting edge Mycronic Jet Printers
- Operating ovens such as, Asscon, BTU and ERSA hotflow/N2
- Working with line optimisation software
- Ability to enact build instructions and associated drawings
- Comprehension of component package types, orientation, MSL handling and ESD
- Completing machine calibrations and routing maintenance
- Familiar with windows, to use internal software applications
- Solid communication skills in a technical environment
- Engineering bias
- Flexible, adaptable with attention to detail
- Experienced in using a recognised SMT platform
- Comprehension of IPC standards/previous of current certification
- Experience using X-Ray equipment would be advantageous
- Experience and understanding thermal profiles would be advantageous
- Day shift role with paid overtime
