Are you a Quantity Surveyor with a Civil Engineering background who is looking to move into a leadership role? Due to an internal promotion, Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a rapidly expanding Civil Engineering subcontractor based in County Durham. The company are currently in a phase of major growth in the region, with framework wins and a full order book until 2027. They are looking for someone with ambition to develoo into a Commercial Management role in the next 2-3 years. Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial reporting including forecasting and wider project performance
  • Work alongside operational team to produce accurate End Life Forecasts
  • Manage client interface
  • Risk management including change control and WIP management
  • Contract Administration
  • Provision of contractual advice to the project delivery team
  • Aid in subcontract procurement and placement, ensuring best value for money and lowest risk achieved at all times
  • Payment and debt management
  • Attend internal and external (Client) meetings
  • Final account compilation / submission
Key Competencies:
  • Team work
  • Contractual knowledge – NEC3 ECC knowledge is essential
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Organised and efficient
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Civil Engineering / Highways experience
  • Excellent IT skills – with heavy focus on excel
Qualifications & Experience:
  • HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential
  • Experience in the construction industry is essential
  • Experience with scheme finance and commercial management is essential
  • Ability to understand and respond to contract issues
  • MRICS or MCIOB is desirable
  • Experience in the civil engineering industry
A salary of up to £60,000 plus company vehicle or allowance, annual leave, pension scheme, bonus scheme and other benefits.
