Are you passionate about storytelling through visual media? Join us at Astrum one of the largest astronomy channels on YouTube with over 2 million subscribers.
We are looking for talented and creative Freelance Video Editors to join our remote production team. The ideal candidates will have a background in video editing and a genuine interest in science content. Experience editing documentaries and educational content will be considered a valuable asset
Edit and produce high-quality long form videos that incorporate live action and animation footage, utilising video editing software and and collaborating with animators
Archive Research - Search databases for relevant high-quality images, footage and visuals.
Source, download, select and import suitable media elements (videos, images, audio)
Work closely with the creator and the production team to ensure all video content is accurate, informative and engaging
Integrate the tone of voice from the original Astrum channel into the new editing style, while elevating the overall quality to a higher standard than the original channel.
Implement sound design on edits
Ensure use of rights-cleared assets.
Manage and organise video footage, assets and archives
Stay up-to-date with video editing software and techniques
3+ years of experience in video editing and accompanying showreel, with an emphasis on digital content creation and experience with YouTube
~ Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro & Creative Cloud
~ Demonstrated experience using and creating motion graphics and animations.
~ Excellent video documentary storytelling skills
~ Although not essential, a strong understanding of YouTube and other social media platforms and how to optimise content for those platforms would be beneficial
~ Experience in sound design, with the ability to integrate audio elements into video projects, is essential
~ Previous experience editing factual documentaries will be considered an advantage
