Within the organisation, the UK Commerce Team acts as a central specialist unit servicing agency accounts across retail media, marketplaces, and ecommerce. Working with major brands, the team is responsible for shaping full-funnel commerce strategies, powering growth across Amazon, retailer media networks and omnichannel retail environments. The Role: Lead client delivery. Shape retail media strategy. Drive award-winning work. As the Retail Media Director, you will play a pivotal leadership role overseeing end-to-end retail media strategy, activation, and client delivery across key accounts. This FTC position provides an immediate opportunity to own strategic delivery across onsite, offsite and instore retail media, while guiding a high-performing activation team and directly influencing client growth. You’ll work across major UK retail media networks - including Amazon, Tesco, Sainsbury’s Nectar360, ASDA Media and Criteo - ensuring campaigns are accurately planned, flawlessly executed, and strategically aligned to client objectives. With pitching forming around 20% of the role, you will also contribute to new business efforts and thought leadership within a fast-moving, high-growth environment. This is a role for someone who can hit the ground running, thrives on agency pace, and brings deep expertise in UK retail media. Key Responsibilities: Client Leadership & Delivery (80%) Act as day-to-day strategic lead across 2 major clients, building strong senior relationships. Oversee the delivery of retail media programmes across onsite, offsite and instore activations. Lead annual planning, channel strategy development and full-funnel retail media roadmaps. Ensure campaigns are set up accurately, run efficiently and report against clear KPIs and learning agendas. Translate data and insights into clear, commercial recommendations. Bridge gaps between agency, commerce specialist teams and client stakeholders. Pitching & Growth (20%) Lead or support pitch responses, presentations and strategic proposals. Provide thought leadership on industry trends, retail media innovation and future opportunities. Challenge partners - including retailers and platforms to deliver bespoke, high-impact solutions. Team Leadership & Operations Manage and mentor the retail media activation team, ensuring high-quality output. Guide the execution of campaigns across Amazon, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and Criteo. Champion best-in-class measurement, targeting strategies and retail media standards. Your Profile: You are a proactive, strategic, agency-trained retail media expert who is comfortable leading client relationships, managing delivery teams and shaping omnichannel retail media strategies. You think commercially, move quickly, and naturally operate at director level. Essential Experience: Associate Director or Account Director level, with 2+ years minimum in a similar role. Agency background is highly preferred Deep knowledge of the UK retail media landscape Experience with Amazon Ads, Tesco Media, Sainsbury’s Nectar360, ASDA Media, Criteo and offsite programmatic platforms. Proven experience managing multi-client portfolios and overseeing activation teams. Strong pitching and presentation skills. Ability to connect dots across insight, data, planning, targeting and measurement. Comfortable working at pace and jumping into delivery immediately. What is on Offer?
