My client has come to me on an exclusive basis for a new vacancy. They are based on the outskirts of Reading, are part of a global organisation, have on-site parking and some excellent benefits. They are based within the IT and communications sector, manufacturing and supplying products to a list of companies which you would find in the corporate world. This is a key role within the European Tax Team with involvement in a wide range of activities including tax reporting, compliance, transfer pricing and global advisory projects for our multiple entities and jurisdictions across Europe.
They have an excellent reputation for employee retention and development. This role would ideally suit someone who is looking for a first move from practice, or already has had industry experience, looking to manage a small team.
You will:
- Join the European Tax Team based in the UK, managing a team of 2 and reporting to the Senior Tax Manager
- Coach, mentor and train team members
- Be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax provisioning for European entities for quarterly US GAAP reporting.
- Prepare and review tax provisions for UK and Ireland statutory accounts, including liaising with external auditors as part of Group and Local audits.
- Liaise with external advisors to complete and review UK and Ireland corporate tax returns and associated tax issues such as Anti-Hybrids reviews, CFC reviews and R&D Claims
- Be involved in cash tax forecasting, arranging tax payments and ensuring tax filings and requirements are met in a number of jurisdictions.
- Review and co-ordinate the transfer pricing documentation and implementation of intercompany agreements and policies for European entities
- Be involved in the preparation and implementation of the Pillar 2 requirements with the US tax team
- Coordinate global tax advisory or restructuring projects being carried out in Europe including assistance with accounting, legal and tax implications and liaising with external advisors.
- Manage legal entity rationalisation projects in Europe, including working with external advisors and internal finance teams to progress liquidations or mergers.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate tax governance frameworks including SAO, CCO, tax strategy and SOX internal controls for tax processes.
- Be involved in any tax audits and interactions with tax authorities within Europe
- Coordinate and analyse of cash repatriation opportunities within the global group
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant or tax professional, ACA, ACCA or CTA or equivalent. You will have some experience of people management, be a first move from Chartered Accountancy or come with industry experience. Excellent communication skills are needed as you will be engaging with senior stakeholders across the globe.
You will receive a salary dependent on experience up to £80,000. There is also an annual bonus, a monthly car allowance and share options as part of the package, pushing the total to over £90,000.
