Principal / Lead Electrical Engineer- Long Term Contract- Outside of Scope of IR35- Hybrid
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal/Lead Electrical Engineer to join one of the UK's leading construction and engineering solutions company on a long term contract basis.
This role will involve providing technical leadership and expertise in electrical engineering for various projects within the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Water sectors. The successful candidate will be client-facing and responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects by performing the following tasks:
Provide technical input for projects and proposals, including the preparation, checking, and approval of engineering documentation.
Allocate work and ensure delivery against plan, prioritizing tasks to meet project timelines and client expectations.
Deliver high-quality electrical engineering tasks within schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
Prepare equipment and materials requisitions for various electrical components, including HV and LV switchboards, transformers, UPS systems, VFDs, motors, etc.
Prepare installation scopes of work and review supplier quotations, providing technical bid assessments.
Detailed design of plants with large electrical networks
Power system analysis, including fault level calculations and load flows
Specifying electrical equipment for hazardous areas
Over 15 years of experience in electrical design and installation requirements.
Significant experience leading projects in the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and/or Water sectors.
Awareness of risk identification, quantification, management, and HSE requirements.
Degree in relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electronic / Electrical / Control Engineering). Apprenticeships may be considered.
