They are recruiting for the position of Quantity Surveyor to be part of a rapidly growing company working on innovative projects, focusing on Wastewater Network Solutions. The role is to be based in Fleet, Hampshire, with the flexibility of Hybrid working. The role will involve major projects across the whole of London & Thames Valley region initially. This is an opportunity to manage all commercial aspects of projects, from initial inception and tender through to the settlement of final accounts. Responsibilities Providing Commercial Support and report to the Commercial Manager Procurement Management Manage all aspects of pre- and post-contract duties for major projects Manage contract change, opportunity and risk, payment applications and final accounts, in addition to carrying out project forecasting and reporting Work closely with the site team attending site regularly to ensure they are aware of and can manage the allowances and outputs, provide robust challenge to achieve outperformance, communicate change control and escalate when necessary. Advising project stakeholders of commercial-related issues Calculating and reporting monthly 'Value of Work Done' position to the business Directors Providing support for contractual claims Work closely with other team members, such as Project Managers, Designers, Engineers and Estimators, as well as attending regular financial meetings with senior members of staff Work to financial targets and deadlines, interpret project programmes, understand risk, and react to the demands of construction delivery to ensure the best value for the company. Skills/experience/qualifications Ideally 3 years' experience in Quantity Surveying in the UK water industry. Commercially and contractually astute takes ownership of performance Has held the position of Quantity Surveyor previously or had extensive experience in a commercial role covering contract management, price negotiation, dispute resolution and accurate financial reporting Completed a degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar construction-related qualification. Membership to the RICS/ICES (desirable but not essential) Good people skills, including leadership skills and the ability to foster professional relations with others Proactive person able to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity Have experience in supply chain management and procurement Hold a full UK valid driving licence and have your own transport - this is non-negotiable Intermediate/Advanced Excell Skills - ability to manage large amounts of data accurately and efficiently. Experience with change and risk management, as well as tender and final account negotiation skills Benefits Hybrid working - office attendance in Fleet would be ideal but 2 days a week is OK if you live further afield/closer to an end client Monday to Friay 37.5 hour working week Professional development support/training courses paid for Travel expenses/car allowance will be discussed 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Salary is open to negotiation based on experience (£35-55k with range of seniority levels considered)
