We are expanding our technician teams within the EMEA regions and have an opening for a Cabling Infrastructure Engineer (CI). This is an entry level position and a unique opportunity to work in some of the most innovative and fast paced data centers in the world.
The Infrastructure Delivery (ID) team is responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data center infrastructure. As part of that team, the Cabling Infrastructure Engineer (CI) will be primarily tasked with project managing small to large cabling projects within the data centers. The individual must be able to travel within the cluster territory and/or regional territory as needed.

- Understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of different cabling systems (Copper/Fibre test equipment, OTDR, Network analyser, VFL etc.)
- Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office conditions
- Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors
- Physical audit of cable basket capacity and Fire opening audits throughout the data centres
- Scaling forecast heatmap comparison to current basket capacity to help identify potential lockers
- Create basket remediation projects and check baskets structural integrity
- Complete a QA survey on completion
- QA audits of New DC builds from room1 to all subsequent rooms
- Work with PIC and ID teams on scaling projects covering cable pathways, routes and installation best practices
- Initiate regular training sessions for AWS staff as well as cabling vendors and contractors.

Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and network cabling & basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
- 2 years+ project management experience on medium to large scale projects.
Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CITY & GUILDS Cabling cert or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management) is a plus.
- Cabling and/or computer/server maintenance experience.
