Opportunity We are searching for an innovative Head Chef to lead our Braai food truck, tasked with creating a standout menu that captures the essence of South African cuisine. This role is a unique chance to meld culinary skill with cultural passion, setting new benchmarks in mobile dining.

Role Expectations As the Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in establishing our food truck and our soon to open brick and mortar restaurant as a leader in offering genuine and inventive Braai experiences. You'll have the creative freedom to curate and craft the menu, ensuring every dish served is a reflection of traditional South African flavours with a contemporary twist.

Responsibilities Take the lead on all kitchen operations, from sourcing ingredients to managing inventory, focusing on the quality and freshness of every dish.

Curate and create a dynamic menu that pays tribute to South African culinary traditions, appealing to a wide range of tastes and preferences.

Design and implement rigorous training programs to ensure the food truck can deliver a consistent and high-quality dining experience.

Oversee the aesthetic and functional setup of the food stall, dictating the look and feel to align with the Braai theme and enhance customer engagement.

Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, meeting all regulatory requirements to safeguard customer health.

Attend a diverse array of events, showcasing the unique offerings of the Braai food truck and expanding its reach across the UK.

Requirements Significant experience in a Head Chef or senior culinary leadership role, preferably with experience in event catering or food truck operations.

A strong affinity for South African cuisine and a desire to share its rich flavors and traditions through the art of Braai.

Culinary arts certification or equivalent professional education, with expertise in barbecue or open-fire cooking a plus.

Excellent leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating staff and ensuring high performance.

Flexibility and adaptability to navigate the challenges of mobile food service and event catering.
