SECURITY OFFICER Salary: £35,996.14 per annum Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 42 hours per week, 12 hour shifts [4 on, 4 off, 6am - 6pm & 6pm - 6am] Location: Cheltenham Excellent benefits package including 2.5% Golden Hello payment on commencement of employment and a £2,000 annual retention bonus (pro-rata for part time employees), subject to Achieving and maintaining clearance requirements. G4S Facilities Management are recruiting a Security Officer on a full-time, permanent basis based in Cheltenham. As a Security Officer on this contract, you will be more than a Security Guard. You will be a part of the G4S Facilities Management team providing a full and comprehensive delivery of services to our high-profile client. With a keen eye and a brilliant way with people, you could look forward to an interesting role where no two days are the same with exciting career opportunities. Responsibilities Control access to site and designated buildings. To patrol the interior and exterior of buildings/offices and perimeter. Detect, and if possible prevent, forcible or clandestine entry to sites/buildings by those without authority and deter and detect vandalism. Monitor activity on site and in the immediate vicinity of the site. Operate the switchboard out of hours. Deal with suspect postal packages and suspicious objects in accordance with agreed procedures. Monitor the effectiveness of the end of day security measures in workspaces. To operate the switchboard out of hours. Carry out monitoring of the alarm systems as required. Comply with health and safety and emergency procedures. To act as first point of contact for any emergency and co-ordinate emergency response where necessary. Essential Basic level of IT skills. Customer focused approach. Enthusiastic and flexible. Teamwork. Must be willing to undergo extended security clearance. Desirable Full, clean driving licence preferable but not essential Hold a current SIA licence, or willingness to be trained (which is essential). Able to work on your own initiative.
