Our client are a leading manufacturer of precision parts for the aerospace and power generation industries. They are looking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Professional, with a Project Management background within manufacturing. Continuous Improvement Project Manager Permanent position Aerospace & power generation industries Monday – Friday 10% matched pension Position overview: This role will involve co-ordinating and driving the Pipeline projects across the site.Implementing Lean/Sigma into the various departments (Office and shop floor). Supporting the Operations Director to drive a culture of continuous improvement within the business, through delivering improvement projects and training and coaching members of the team. Create and actively manage project plans.
Support and direct cross-disciplined project teams to ensure timely delivery of pipeline projects.
Implement visual management, value stream mapping, process management, set-up reduction, 6S, problem solving techniques, mistake proofing etc.
Manage internal and external project communications to all levels of stakeholders.
Conduct project presentations and compile reports.
Establish KPI’s to measure success of lean implementations.
Manage resources involved in operations within agreed budgetary constraints through effective planning, programming and prioritisation of work activities.
Any other duties at the request of the Senior Management Team.
Provide leadership in the deployment of a continuous improvement culture throughout all areas of the business.
Provide training in process improvement approaches and methods.
prioritise projects and their initiation and execution to deliver improvements in cost, quality, delivery and customer satisfaction.
Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance relating to product, process and quality system.
Key Skills/ Qualities/ Experience:
Ideally Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
Formal training in Six Sigma (ideally to Black belt/Master black belt level) and Lean Manufacturing and control methodologies. (Proven ability in working within teams and management of projects within tight timescales and budgets.
