This role is crucial for understanding business problems and translating them into effective data and analytics solutions. The successful candidate will work with various departments to assess their data needs, define technical requirements, and ensure the seamless delivery of data solutions by an offshore development partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and prioritise data and analytics requirements in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for the offshore development team.
- Ensure the design, development, and implementation of robust ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, models, and enterprise information assets.
- Develop and deliver data-driven insights through dashboards and reports, ensuring high quality and accuracy.
- Analyse data to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Understand user goals and tasks, create personas, and develop user stories to outline features and capabilities.
- Ensure data solutions are user-friendly and accessible.
- Oversee the delivery of data and analytics services, aligning with business requirements and service level agreements.
- Monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness of data solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the performance of data services, integrating internal and external solutions to meet business needs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and manage data-related risks.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, operating within established frameworks, policies, and processes.
Measures of Success:
- Successful implementation of innovative technologies to enhance business performance.
- High alignment between data solutions and user needs, leading to improved stakeholder satisfaction.
- Effective delivery of data services, measured through key performance metrics.
- Reduction in data-related incidents and improved business performance through data insights.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in a relevant IT or data role.
- Practical experience with data operations.
- Exposure to data tools and technologies.
- Experience with data incident investigation (preferred).
- Degree in computer science or related field (preferred).
- Knowledge of data management, analytics, and optimisation.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse) (preferred).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL, PowerShell).
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
