Your mission

Role

OSC is seeking an experienced Director of Projects (DoP) to lead its tendering team. The DoP will have a strong track record of working in offshore sectors, specifically renewables, construction, defence, oil and gas. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years project management experience, liaising with and building positive relationship with stakeholders and clients, as well as preparing and submitting tenders and proposals, marine licencing, EIAs, and client reporting.

Your profile Key responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Directors and other members of senior management to expand thestaff and business within UK and internationally;
  • Work closely with other members of senior management to set and deliver business strategies;
  • Lead and mentor a team of consultants to produce timely, accurate, robust, and high-quality products and services;
  • Review and sign off reports, provide constructive feedback and coaching where required to achieve this;
  • Ensure that all outputs are delivered to the highest standard and technical quality, in line with timescales agreed with the client, and within budget;
  • Involved in all aspects of tender preparation including writing proposals, setting budgets, programmes, and scope, including coordination and review of tender proposals when delegated to others;
  • Keep track of multiple projects progress, budgets and invoicing (in collaboration with a bookkeeper), staffing, and maintain OSC’s databases and commercial CV;
  • Supervision and training of project managers (including resource, timelines, and budget);
  • Management of specialist projects;
  • Client managementand successfully developing, maintaining, and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships;
  • Attend and present at appropriate business-development/networking events including conferences; and,
  • Business development, including maintaining and extending relationships with existing clients as well as securing and managing new work.

The successful candidate will have the following:

Required:

  • A degree (minimum 2:1) in arelevant business, economics or environmental discipline (business consultancy, marketing, marine biology/ecology, environmental science, etc );
  • Minimum of five yearsrelevant commercial experience;
  • Strong leadership skills and business acumen, client-oriented, and focused on results;
  • Excellent written, numerical, verbal communication skills, with ability to produce highly technical documents;
  • Ability to develop strong relationships, delegate, and work effectively with teams across the business and with clients;
  • Five years of prior project management and financial management experience;
  • Experience working with renewables, O&G, defence or other sectors in pre/post-consent project delivery;
  • Experience managing personnel and teams;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent organisation skills, and flexibility when met with changing circumstances;
  • Demonstrated sales drive, determination, and dedication;and,
  • Genuine interest about the business, and the industry.
