Head of Machine Learning

Would you be interested in working in a leadership and engineering capacity for a leading tech company, with over 50 million MAU and operating in 60 countries?

We’re on the lookout for a Head of Machine Learning, with a strategic mindset to help shape a recommendations strategy and build a new engine from 0-1.

You will be a subject matter expert in recommendations, with a history of implementing complex solutions at scale, as well as shaping and engineering projects in the wider machine learning and deep learning landscape.

In what is a very experimental stage, this is an opportunity to create research in line with business goals and see your work deployed in production. Currently, the team is deployed across 2 continents, so you’ll have the chance to collaborate with highly experienced ICs on a vast and rich dataset.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Design and build top-notch search and recommendation systems, leveraging innovative research models.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to the board on various problems within Machine learning, Deep Learning and Recsys/Ranking
  • Shape product objectives and machine learning methods to refine both develop and refine strategy for recommendations

Person Skills

  • 5 years + experience developing highly scalable recommender systems
  • Ph.D degree in Computer Science or related quantitative discipline
  • Experience in training ML models with frameworks like Tensorflow, PyTorch, MXNet,
  • Caffe,Torch etc.
  • Excellent coding skills in one of the following: Python, C/C++, Java, NodeJS, Go, Scala
  • Experience with distributed systems, scalable data processing frameworks (e.g.,
  • Spark,Kafka) and noSQL systems (e.g., HBase, Cassandra) is a plus.

This is an excellent role for someone looking to step into a leadership position from a staff or lead backgroud.
