This Head of Finance position is an exciting opportunity to join a public sector organisation. This diverse role would be a vital position to effectively lead and develop the finance team and deliver both operational financial support to the organisation, provide technical expertise and support in delivering their long term strategy.

Reporting into the Director of Finance and line manage 3 members of staff
Planning for year-end including delivery of accurate and timely reporting
Overseeing statutory reporting and delivering both quarterly and yearly accounts prep.
Coordinating financial processes across the department and supplying opportunities for improvement across both systems and policies
Preparing and updating Management Accounts, investigating variances, and identifying areas for improvement
Oversee the transactional finance function ensuring accuracy across AP/AR and payroll.
Identify and implement opportunities to transform and improve the performance of the end to end Finance service to deliver service excellence to internal and external stakeholders.
A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA)
Understanding of working in a complex finance function
Experience of leading the year-end and a competent Excel user
