The role:
FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER – WORLDWIDE OPERATIONS
To business partner the Director of LHR Operations and further assist the London Operations team in reporting financial performance, tracking a variety of business KPIs and driving change to ensure the business is remaining as competitive as possible. Furthermore, the role requires significant financial scrutiny over investment cases, challenging the business to make the right decisions and evaluating the return from every initiative. The role also requires continuous development of financial results reporting, identifying areas of cost leakages through current processes and procedures.
In addition to this the Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining the right level of internal controls, playing a key role in the formation of business plans & forecasts, and supporting fundamental profitability analysis.
What you’ll do:
Business partner to London operations team, presenting key management information and supporting the creation and delivery of business cases and cost reduction initiatives. Lead financial and business reporting and forecasting processes for all central areas ensuring costs are accurately reported and tightly controlled.
- Present complex information in an accessible and meaningful way to focus and drive improvements in financial performance
- Prepare and track Business Plans, Financial Plans (includes budgeting, planning and forecasting) and Local Targets using appropriate modelling techniques where required
- Drive business change through strategy initiatives and high-profile projects to transform and shape the future of IAG Cargo
- Control and decision support activities – Identify, influence and implement opportunities for cost reduction and/or revenue improvement through insightful monitoring and analysis of financial performance within each directorate
- Control and management of project accounting activities, including insight and evaluation of project success, production of business cases which facilitates key investment decisions and robust tracking to ensure project control and delivery
- Preparing ad-hoc board papers to present operational performance and financial impacts to IAG, managing the story to difference audiences around the group
- Actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels Across IAG Cargo, BA, Iberia and other group airlines
- Identify opportunities for process improvements via automation and standardisation and support or manage the implementation of any changes
- Provide information and support where required to internal and external Auditors
- Provide ad-hoc information, support and liaison where required
- Learn to utilize SAP, Anaplan, Tableau and Think Cell tools to produce a consistent and powerful set of reports
- Help to identify and ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place in the ledger
- Adhere to all corporate, statutory and regulatory requirements including Group Standing Instructions, Group Financial Standing Instructions, Financial Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards
- Actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels across IAG Cargo, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Level, GBS
What you’ll bring to IAG Cargo:

Your experience:
- Strong understanding of finance theory and good level of practical finance experience in management accounting
- Business awareness and commercial acumen developed through the application of finance knowledge and experience
- Numerate and accurate
- Strong IT skills in MS Office and preferably experience of finance systems including SAP, Anaplan, Thinkcell, Business Objects
- Proven track record of effective business partnering of commercial facing roles in fast moving business
- Experienced in providing business case support, project tracking and delivery of investments/initiative portfolios
