Starting salary £60,175pa with progression to £69,590pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance)

Permanent contract

37 hours per week (hybrid working)


We’re looking for a proactive and experienced manager to take on the newly formed Regulatory Services Department. This exciting role gives you the opportunity to help design and shape the service for the future. The department covers a range of services including, Food, Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, Enviro-crime, Licensing, Private Sector Housing and allied support services.

To provide and promote strong, effective leadership and management, demonstrating and promoting the Council’s value and behaviours to motivate staff to deliver high quality services to customers. To plan, lead, develop and monitor robust performance standards and in accordance with the Council’s priorities as set out in the Corporate Plan, seeking to continuously improve services. To work effectively and collaboratively with stakeholders and external partners to deliver aligned projects and priorities.

We’re seeking a confident and capable professional with proven experience in service improvement. A track record of delivering tangible service improvements. You’ll bring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for improving the local area. This is a high-impact role at the heart of a prominent public-facing service, offering the opportunity to shape standards across the borough.

You will have a UK driving licence and access to a car.
