Mechanical Project Engineer - Affinity Water team
Location - Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire (based in or around South East England with travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region)
Are you an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer looking for your next challenge? Join Galliford Try’s Environment Business and play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects that make a real difference to communities.
You’ll work across multiple sites and projects, primarily within the water industry covering clean schemes. Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated project delivery team to ensure design, procurement, financial control, and site activities are completed to the highest standards.
Lead mechanical engineering from concept through to completion using in-house resources and site teams.
Deliver Non-Infra M&E projects within the water sector.
Prepare and review health & safety documentation (RAMS, project plans).
Procure materials and manage supplier/subcontractor relationships.
Attend and oversee factory/site testing, commissioning, and client training.
Monitor budgets and assist with cost reviews and variation claims.
Ensure quality and compliance through inspection and test plans.
Prepare and manage project programmes and documentation (as-built drawings, Operation & Maintenance manuals).
Champion health & safety and maintain high performance standards.
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Commercial and contractual awareness.
Flexible, resilient, and able to influence at all levels.
Experience in the water industry or Non-Infra projects (desirable).
An industry applicable mechanical ONC/HNC/B.Full UK driving licence.
