Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician Oakdale, Newport £48,000 + Overtime + Training + Progression + Pension + Holiday + Benefits + Permanent role + 4 on 4 off schedule (Continental - Days & Nights) Are you a maintenance engineer or technician with a mechanical or electrical skill set? Have you worked within a production/manufacturing background or similar? LINKS Recruitment Group present a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to work within a well-established company who are continuously growing due to company success. The role: You will be working within a team, carrying out PPM’s and maintenance on a range of production machinery.

  • To provide breakdown service to the production areas to ensure safety, quality and productivity targets are met.
  • To carry out a programme of planned maintenance on plant / production machinery, ensuring that they are available for production in a safe and efficient condition.
  • To support the Engineering Supervisor with the continual development and improvement of the facilities and services available to the business.
  • To work proactively, identify and act upon any sub standard areas.
  • Investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on plant and machinery.
  • Work to planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Complete elements of commissioning on plant and equipment.
  • Work with sub-contractors to improve working knowledge of plant and equipment.

  • Ensure that ‘general’ building/facilities maintenance is carried out.
  • Work with sub-contractors to improve working knowledge of plant and equipment.
  • Support the introduction of new machinery and products.
  • Work closely with other internal departments.
  • Investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on plant and machinery.
  • Work to planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Complete elements of commissioning on plant and equipment.
  • Work with sub-contractors to improve working knowledge of plant and equipment.
The Person:
  • Completion of an engineering apprenticeship and/or HNC level or above in a engineering-related subject; or equivalent experience within a relevant engineering role
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
  • You will be multi-skilled, with the ability to fault-find and repair both mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Experience across a variety of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform both proactive & reactive maintenance duties using a scheduled maintenance system.
  • IOSH working safely / managing safely is desirable but not essential.
  • Ideally, you will have PLC experience – specifically, Siemens S7 / Mitsubishi.
  • Ability to read, understand, generate technical, electrical and P&I drawings.
Role: Permanent Salary: up to £48,000 (dependant on experience) Shifts: 4 on 4 off – Days & Nights
