As Senior Staff Nurse for our chemo day care unit, you will be responsible for working in a supporting experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment. This will include meeting their medical, physical and emotional needs by effectively communicating with the patient and their families.
As deputy to the sister/charge nurse the senior staff nurse is instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are delivered. Day to day smooth running of the unit working together with other clinical areas to ensure safe patient flow. We understand that cancer care is a challenging field and our friendly team work closely together to adopt a supportive culture.
NMC registered Nurse
Experienced/competent in Chemotherapy administration
Post registration experience within haematology or oncology setting or equivalent
Wide and evidence-based knowledge of systemic anti-cancer treatments e.g. chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy etc and the known and lesser-known side effects of these,
