The Role: HVAC Engineering Technician. (permanent) Salary: between £32-38k (may be more with experience) The hours: Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 2.30pm Location: Derby. We are currently recruiting for a Rail HVAC engineer/technician to join us on a permanent basis in our busy engineering overhaul division. We are looking for an initiative-taking person who can plan their day using the reports on our internal database and complete work in an organised and timely fashion. A lot of the work we do is rail related so experience of working in the industry would be advantageous. Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and diagnostic fault finding on Rail HVAC units.
- Assist with the strip down and repair of HVAC and other Rail related products when required.
- Stripping and rewiring of electrical components as well as electrical testing.
- Operate a range of HVAC test/electrical equipment.
- Ensure all Health and Safety procedures and always adhered to.
- Using in house reporting ensure all work is quoted and completed on time.
- Ensure your workspace in clean and always organised.
- Experience of working within a similar role / industry.
- HVAC experience.
- Mechanical experience.
- Mechanical qualification.
- Full, clean driving licence desirable.
- Rail HVAC chiller units and compressors experience would be an advantage.
- F GAS qualified as well would be desirable.
- Electrical knowledge, fault finding and exchanging electrical components.
