Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an additional Hardware Engineer to join our engineering design team based at our offices in Congleton, Cheshire.

The role will involve the technical development of industrial automation solutions within our multi-disciplined teams in the design, implementation and commissioning of PLC and SCADA systems for a wide range of industrial applications taking projects through from conception to completion.

A prior knowledge of Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC equipment, their associated control system networks, Inverter Drive and I/O solutions is preferred.

Working within our existing engineering team structure the key duties and responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:

* The creation and appropriate maintenance of URS, FDS and associated design information.

* Liaise with clients and ensure that functional design specifications capture requirements.

* Develop hardware aspects of the control systems, to include connectivity of PLCs, I/O, Drives, HMIs, SCADA and Programmable Safety Systems.

* Create drawing packages (using AutoCAD Electrical), to include GA’s, Parts Lists, Schematics, Loop Diagrams, Termination Schedules and any required site installation documentation.

* Visual inspection, point-to-point testing, appropriate pre-configuration of inverter drives and any simulation support with the client prior to deployment and produce associated test records.

* On-site supervision of electrical installation works.

* Commission on site

* Respond to operational faults and take corrective action

* Undertake planned maintenance activities

* Provide training to system users

* Research and develop new equipment to support overall evaluation/execution of future strategy

* Attend project start up and end of project review meetings, providing a positive contribution.

* Plan, organise, and manage own time for each project against milestones provided by the Project Manager.

* Monitor on-going project progress and detail any emergent issues in a timely manner.

* Monitor and report on budget information for identified projects.

* Liaise with stakeholders at project meetings.

Candidate requirements would include, but not be limited to:

* A strong educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering

* Proven working experience in the whole project lifecycle, from concept design through to final client acceptance testing in an industrial automation technology sector.

* Solid technical background with demonstrable experience in eelcrcal engineering oftware development.

* Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its respective products
