The Singing Teacher Role:
The purpose of the role is to provide high-quality and creative Singing teaching and coaching for children of all abilities as well as pupils on scholarship schemes.
Planning and preparing lessons and overall schemes of work in relation to individual pupils' needs and examination syllabuses
Acquiring appropriate teaching materials and resources
Preparing pupils for performances and examinations
Motivating pupils and encouraging progress
Liaising with academic staff and parents
Assessing pupils’ abilities, providing feedback and writing reports
Encourage performance opportunities for your pupils, such as concerts for friends and relatives
Supporting recitals and concerts for pupils' families and Friends
Teaching music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to pupils – as appropriate and relevant
Skills and Qualities:
Musical and teaching ability
The ability to motivate and encourage your pupils
Passion and enthusiasm for music and teaching
Above all, you must want the very best for their pupils and be prepared to put their needs first. You recognise the importance of educating the whole child within a broad curricular and co-curricular programme, and of achieving high standards.
