Head of Cyber Security and Information Governance

Salary : up to £90k

Location: Home based with UK travel as required

The Head of Cyber Security is a senior role within the Lifeways Group and plays a vital role in designing, enabling, and delivering the Cyber Security vision and strategy. You will have a direct impact on all Lifeway employees and people we support.

Reporting into the Chief Information Officer, the role will have accountability for the organisation’s Cyber defences and the protection and governance of our information, continually balancing the effective and efficient operation of the business, with the implementation of appropriate controls and measures to ensure cyber and information risk is managed effectively.

Role Responsibilities

- Overall accountability for Cyber Security, the progression of cyber security maturity, the analysis of cyber defence models and the development of a cyber security roadmap to address security gaps or weaknesses.

- Accountability for overseeing engineering progress against key cyber related work packages to ensure delivery on time, and to the quality required.

- Accountability for the development of Cyber incident response plans, and handling of cyber incidents through chairing the cyber incident response teams (CIRT)

- Ensuring compliance ISO27001 (information security management system)

- Ensuring compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus

- Ensuring compliance with DSP Toolkit

- Chair of the Information Governance Steering Committee

- Through the Data Protection Officer and Information Governance Teams, ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and its implementation of GDPR

- Lead on developing technology and capability strategies to better defend Lifeways Group, providing thought leadership on future trends and Technologies, focusing on continuous improvement & business requirements to mitigate an ever-evolving threat.

- Lead on offensive cyber & cyber intelligence strategies to develop defence and gain assurance on systems across the whole organisation whilst furthering the organisation’s understanding of local and strategic threat environments.

- Build relationships and stakeholder networks to become the primary point of contact on Cyber Security issues with key stakeholders, including external parties, and actively develop strong working relationships in relation to Cyber Security

- Ensure that the Cyber Security controls remain appropriate and proportionate to the assessed risks, and are responsive and adaptable to the changing threat environment, business requirements and policies.

- Influence and develop defensive cyber security strategy across technical teams to help shape defensive cyber across and contribute to the IT/digital strategy.

- Provide management and oversight to the Data Protection Officer and Information Governance Teams

The ideal candidate will have the following essentials skills and experience

- 3-5 years experience in a similar leadership role

- Hands on experience in domains of cybersecurity such as network security, application security and threat intelligence.

- Expert in core information security principles (access control, operating system security, vulnerability management, etc.)

- Knowledge of Intrusion Detection / Prevention systems (IDS / IPS)

- Industry related qualification preferred such as CISSP, CEH, CCSP, CISA, CySA+

- Experience of handling cyber security incidents, threat hunting and forensic

- Experience in selecting, deploying, and maintaining security solutions.

- Experience of vulnerability management

- Experiencein financial forecasts, budget, and business planning.

- Experience of people management

- Strong skills and knowledge regarding Threat Intelligence with conclusive CERT/CSIRT activities

- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework

- Knowledge of NIST framework, OWASP and CIS controls
