The Digital Product Management Higher Apprentice role at National Grid sits within our Infrastructure Delivery (ID) team, which leads the execution of major energy projects across the UK. These projects include building and upgrading substations and transmission lines which are critical components that ensure electricity and gas are delivered safely and reliably.
By working closely with internal teams and external partners, you’ll help drive the UK’s energy transition, making the grid more resilient and ready for clean, low-carbon power. As a Digital Product Management Higher Apprentice, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of energy, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to National Grid’s sustainability goals.
Within this role you will assist in the end-to-end development of digital products, which may include tools for project management, risk assessment and data analysis, while working closely with product managers and technical teams to ensure that products meet user needs and business objectives. Driving digital innovation by supporting the development of cutting-edge digital products that improve efficiency and collaboration across National Grid’s Infrastructure Delivery Team.
Get involved in the full lifecycle of digital tools from project management and risk assessment to data analysis, working closely with product managers and tech teams.
Collaborate across teams working with UX designers, software engineers, and data scientists to create user-friendly solutions that meet real business needs.
Build skills in agile and analytics by participating in team activities to help deliver digital products and learn how to use tools like Power BI to turn data into useful insights.
Gain professional training in product management and digital technologies while contributing to National Grid’s mission for a cleaner, smarter energy future.
This role is based in the Warwick office and may offer flexible and hybrid working throughout the programme. You will be required to attend the majority of your course training at our Training Centre in Eakring, Newark. This could include multiple and frequent nights away from home. Stakeholder and site-based meetings are likely to occur in this role too which may involve travelling to locations that are not your office base.
You will have a minimum of five GCSEs with grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English language and Maths.
Have or be predicted to achieve two A-Levels at grade C or above one of which must be in either IT/Digital, Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Computing OR BTEC National Certificate OR Diploma Level 3 in either Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Computing/Digital or Business at Grade Merit or Distinction.
You do not need prior work experience; The role will provide you with a variety of skills including transferrable skills to support your career development within National Grid.
