London, United Kingdom Counter Terrorism Policing Full time €48,355

Every day, Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) relies on a wide variety of technology to do its job, protecting the nation. This tech is vital – which is why your role as a Junior Software Developer will be so important. Joining a newly created team, you’ll help to transform the way in which we deliver technical solutions to operational policing. With your skills and knowledge, we can help CTP to keep the country safe.

As part of a new team of Software Engineers, you’ll provide technical support and expertise toCTP, designing and creating bespoke software and integrating external solutions to support operations and strategic work. You’ll work flexibly from home or one of our easily accessible offices in Birmingham or London, helping to build a world-class development function.

Day to day, you’ll tackle longer-term projects and the integration of new infrastructure or applications. You’ll also work on the tactical development of scripts and hardware exploits, as well as analysing new devices and technologies. With your strong self-motivation, you’ll ensure that the various environments are well architected and documented.

This is a junior role, but it’s not for a beginner – you must have designed and created bespoke software and integrated external solutions before. You’ll also know how to gather sources and types of information, applying a logical mindset to interpret large volumes of information, particularly quantitative. Finally, you’ll need to be fluent in at least three of the following languages to make the grade:

  • NET (VB, C#, ASP.NET, .NET CORE)
  • MVC Framework
  • Python
  • JavaScript (REACT, Bootstrap Frameworks), Node.js
  • Database design
  • SQL / SQL Server
  • NoSQL technologies e.g. MongoDB, ElasticSearch, etc.

Ticked all the boxes? If you’re also a clear communicator who works well with others, we’d like to hear from you.

In return for your efforts and expertise, we can offer a competitive salary, a Civil Service pension, excellent career development, plus a role that’s like no other.
