Collaborating with a creative team of tech enthusiasts, you’ll contribute your unique skills to fuel our technological advancements What You’ll Do as a Programme Manager In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day: End-to-End Programme Delivery: Own the full lifecycle of complex, multi-project technology programmes (initiation, design, development, testing, deployment, and closure) ensuring delivery to agreed scope, time, cost, and quality. Strategic Planning & Alignment: Partner with senior business and technology leaders to define programme objectives, maintain comprehensive plans, and ensure alignment with Primark’s long-term strategic goals. Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Primark’s Delivery Governance Framework and technology standards (Architecture, Engineering, Cyber, GRC), embedding dependencies and compliance into programme plans. Financial & Resource Management: Manage multi-million-pound budgets (typically £15m+), track financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimise resources across multi-organisational teams. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Provide strong leadership to cross-functional teams, act as escalation point, coach team members, and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and external suppliers. Risk, Performance & Vendor Management: Establish KPIs, monitor benefits realisation, manage programme-level risks and dependencies, and oversee supplier contracts to ensure quality and timely delivery. What You’ll Bring Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular: Lead Strategic Technology Programmes: Drive end-to-end delivery of multi-year, high-profile programmes comprising multiple projects, ensuring alignment with Primark’s strategic objectives and governance standards. Programme Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain comprehensive programme plans, manage dependencies, and oversee delivery to scope, time, cost, and quality using methodologies such as PMI, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall. Financial & Resource Leadership: Manage multi-million-pound budgets (typically £15m+), track financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimise resources across multi-organisational teams. Stakeholder & Supplier Management: Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (including Directors), negotiate and manage supplier contracts in complex multi-supplier environments, and ensure quality deliverables. Risk, Compliance & Performance Oversight: Establish KPIs, monitor benefits realisation, manage programme-level risks and issues, and ensure adherence to Primark’s Delivery Governance Framework and technology standards.
