We recently announced the acquisition of research laboratories and a small molecule API pilot plant at Discovery Park, Sandwich, UK, establishing our first manufacturing facility in Europe and expanding our capabilities to meet the needs of global clients. The Sandwich facility will act as the flagship site for European R&D and we are looking to recruit into key roles. The successful candidate will have a passion for synthetic organic chemistry and a desire to join our highly innovative High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE) group, playing a pivotal role in advancing research and development. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing efficient routes and processes for the large-scale manufacture of small molecules, including complex Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), for the pharmaceutical and other industries. Using state-of-the-art technologies and robotics, you will contribute to the development of novel synthetic methodologies, from organometallic chemistry to biocatalysis. With your expertise in organic chemistry and a strong understanding of the contemporary literature, you will play a crucial role in driving our projects forward and making a meaningful impact on patients' lives.

Develop advanced skills in data-centric process design, enabling the development of the most efficient, sustainable, robust and safe large-scale manufacturing processes.
Deliver innovative solutions to chemical challenges utilising state-of-the-art automated technologies to execute and analyse high-throughput reaction screens.
Utilise statistics, machine learning and data visualisation approaches to gain compelling insights into chemical reactions and processes.
Become an industry recognised subject matter expert in HTE, whilst gaining valuable experience in delivering scientific excellent through others.
Apply a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities for improved work processes to deliver increased productivity, value and quality.
D. in Chemistry is required. While a background in related areas such as laboratory automation, High-Throughput Experimentation, or organometallic chemistry is desirable, it is not essential. We value a strong foundation in organic chemistry and a willingness to learn.
Extensive knowledge of contemporary literature and organic chemistry, including synthetic reagents, methodologies, reaction mechanisms, reaction work-up, and isolations.
Creative and analytical problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to apply knowledge to new challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Experience in overseeing scientific projects and providing colleague mentorship is highly desirable.
