About the Role We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our Post‑Breach Remediation team. You’ll help clients restore and harden their network environments after security incidents, ensuring stable, secure connectivity across sites and platforms. This role spans on‑site and remote work. You will lead technical network recovery, implement secure designs, and drive performance and resilience improvements. You’ll participate in scoping calls with clients to understand their environments and requirements, then execute focused remediation and optimization plans in collaboration with internal teams and client stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Restore and secure client network environments following cybersecurity incidents. Design and implement resilient network architectures, including routing, switching, segmentation, and VPN solutions. Configure and maintain enterprise firewalls, remote access, and perimeter security systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructures. Apply security patches, upgrades, and configuration changes with minimal disruption. Review and optimise firewall policies and network configurations to close security gaps. Produce accurate network documentation and recovery runbooks for client handover. Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders during remediation projects. Participate in an on‑call rotation to support critical recovery activities. Essential Experience Network Support Engineer – frontline troubleshooting and connectivity resolution 3rd Line Network Engineer – advanced diagnostics for routing, switching, security Field Network Engineer – on-site deployments, migrations, and cutovers Firewall Engineer – configuring firewalls, VPNs, and security policies LAN/WAN Engineer – designing and maintaining secure, high-availability networks Wireless Engineer – implementing and troubleshooting enterprise Wi-Fi solutions Network Monitoring Specialist – performance monitoring and capacity planning Vendor & ISP Liaison – managing third-party services and escalations Documentation Specialist – creating diagrams, standards, and compliance docs Network Consultant – recovery planning and client technical leadership This role suits someone who has progressed through a range of networking positions and is confident working across complex, multi-site environments with both on-premises and cloud-based technologies. Essential Technical Skills Routing & Switching (VLANs, OSPF, BGP, QoS) Firewalls & VPNs (policy design, IPsec/SSL VPN, HA) Enterprise Platforms (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper) Wireless Networking (secure WLAN design and troubleshooting) Network Services (DNS, DHCP, RADIUS/TACACS+) Monitoring & Performance Tools (Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP) Automation & Scripting (PowerShell or similar) Documentation & Change Control Desirable Skills & Experience Cloud Networking (Azure vNets, AWS VPCs, virtual firewalls) SD-WAN / SASE (e.g., VeloCloud, Prisma Access, Zscaler) Security Hardening (zero-trust, segmentation) OT/ICS Networking (industrial environments) Familiarity with Linux/MacOS networking and SIEM tools Soft Skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Ability to explain complex network concepts clearly. Calm, confident, and methodical under pressure. Strong ownership and follow‑through. Strong organisational skills, with precise documentation. Adaptable and self‑driven, able to prioritise effectively in dynamic environments. Willingness to travel frequently and work on‑site when required. Team‑oriented mindset with mentoring capabilities and a collaborative approach. Qualifications Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Preferred certifications: CompTIA Network+ (Security+ advantageous) Cisco CCNA/ CCNP Palo Alto PCNSA/ PCNSE Fortinet NSE 4/7 Juniper JNCIA/ JNCIS
