An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Assistant Headteacher who will join the senior leadership team working alongside the Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Headteacher and have an exemplary record of making a difference to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. In their new role, they will take the lead in delivering an engaging, rich curriculum ensuring a consistent approach to quality first teaching across the school. positive and proactive in embracing our school values and vision
. • able to coherently outline their own potential contributions to the whole school community, recognising the importance of their role in shaping the lives of our young people based on self-worth and ambitious aspirations.
• confident in sharing their knowledge and experience of implementing effective inclusive approaches to teaching and learning, supporting staff to make necessary adaptations to classroom approaches.
• excited about managing ‘The Lighthouse’, the school’s Specialist Support Base that provides a bespoke, personalised approach to learning for fourteen pupils with EHCPs who travel from outside the school catchment area, and a team of committed staff.
• an effective communicator, prioritising the importance of working in partnership with and listening to the views of pupils, parents and carers, providing invaluable support and ongoing advice
. • able to network and liaise effectively with stakeholders, securing support for pupils and arranging training for staff.
• experienced in the role of SENCO, having already achieved or working towards achieving the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination October 2021 (NASENCO) qualification or the NPQ SEND
. • confident in effectively using a range of assessment systems that are both accurate and effective in demonstrating clear steps or gaps in progress for children with a wide range of starting points
• able to develop and lead staff in a way that is honest, constructive and successful in establishing a trusting, reflective school culture
. • prepared to contribute to the wider leadership of the school, supporting the Headteacher in driving school improvement. delightful, polite and motivated children
