Role: Children's Support Worker
Location: Underley Garden School, Kirkby Lonsdale
Salary: £26,000.00 per annum (plus sleep-in payments)
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week - There is a 2 week shift rota so you can plan your year in advance;
Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.)

The Opportunity
Our Support Workers are compassionate and caring people who are dedicated to providing vulnerable individuals with the support they need, working as part of a team to ensure that those that we support feel safe and secure while developing essential life skills.
As a Support Worker, you can make a significant impact on lives by helping them achieve great things. Although it can be a demanding and challenging role, a calm and conscientious approach helps to ensure that the young person/adult can progress toward increased independence, confidence and empowerment.
At Underley Garden we schedule Waking Night Care Workers who support our pupils with their needs throughout the night. Occasionally, additional support may be needed so we also schedule Sleep-in shifts which, for the most part, pass without incident as our occupants are mostly settled throughout the night.

- Basic Salary - £26,000.00 per annum
- Sleep-ins paid at £60 per night
- Bank Holiday Bonus Pay (Time and a half hourly rate per bank holiday hours worked)

- Travel allowance - £250 per annum for under 10 miles away, £450 per annum for over 10 miles

The Location
We are hiring Children Support Workers for Underley Garden School which is an Independent Special School and Accommodation based near the village of Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria, providing support for individuals between the ages of 5-19. The school was judged to be Outstanding in all areas in April 2022. The residential provision also received an Outstanding judgement in all areas in February 2024
